And the Digital team is at the front of making this happen; from developing and maintaining a suite of internal tools, to working on our consumer web app and exciting greenfield projects. You’ll have the ability to quickly identify operational deficiencies and offer solutions to create real impact, as well as:
- A proven track record of delivering high-quality software products and services
- Experience in an agile software development enviroment
- A strong background/education in a technical subject
- A flexible approach to problem solving and working under pressure
- Understanding of translating user requirements into technical specifications
- Solution / Architecture Design – understanding current systems and architecture and interpreting business processes into the workflow solution
- Source Control Management – understanding the benefits and limitations of different SCMs (GIT, TFS, etc)
- Testing – unit testing, functional testing black box, white box, exploratory, etc.
- Coding Principles – implementing solutions according to SOLID, DRY, and ACID.
- Build and Deployment – Knowledge and understanding of Continuous Integration, hosted environments (Azure, IIS, etc), and conforming to best practice with regards to the wider release process.
- Diagnosing Issues on Existing Systems – analytical approach to using diagnostic tools to identify issues and logging them, isolating and fixing these issues
- Business Intelligence, Collaboration, Communication and Review – working on own and in a team, code reviews and knowledge sharing and ability to summarise data in a useful and versatile format for non-technical audiences
- Continuous Review of Latest Technology and Trends – take responsibility for own personal development and keep up to date with new and emerging technologies and trends
You will be involved in developing and maintaining our own internal systems as well as developing new and exciting greenfield projects.
Working as part of a dedicated Digital team as a Software Developer you will identify the technical impact on the requirements and produce, maintain and evolve the products with colleagues, in additon to:
- Supporting existing systems and manging product backlog
- Collaborating on product roadmap to develop new features
- Working in a fast-paced environment where time-management is critical
Predominantly, we’re a Microsoft stack team but that doesn’t stop us from exploring new technologies and platforms, including Angular which is in use for example. We'd expect you to have knowledge or understanding of:
- Languages, Mark-up & Notation: C#, .NET, JavaScript, VB, HTML, CSS, XML, JSON
- Libraries, Tools & Frameworks: ASP.NET, EF6, Angular 11
- Repositories: NuGet, NPM, Git
- IDEs: Visual Studios 2019, Visual Code, SSMS 2019
- Other Technologies: T-SQL, IIS, Active Directory, Azure, Node, HTTP, SOAP
- Design Patterns: OOP, MVC, Dependency Injection, Observer
