Used car buyers and sellers will in future be able to access a wider choice of vehicles over the internet thanks to a new development from the British Car Auctions (BCA) organisation.
The BCA has announced the launch of a new programme of Live Online auctions taking place over the internet, enabling regional sellers to reach a national audience of potential used car buyers.
"Live Online Select provides a national selling platform for smaller regional sellers, who do not have the volume of stock turnover to support a dedicated solus remarketing programme," said Tony Gannon, communications director at the BCA.
He added: "These sellers operate a range of vehicles from prestige and executive cars to typical volume fleet product that will all benefit from the wider exposure that Live Online can bring."
BCA staged over 1,000 Live Online sales in the UK during the first three months of the year, selling 15,000 cars in the process.
Used cars have become increasingly popular since the turn of the year, as more people look to purchase cheaper models during the credit crunch, rather than splash out on more expensive new versions.
