Advice on foreign driving may aid car loan customers
Advice on foreign driving may aid car loan customers
Jul 3 2008
Car loan customers thinking of taking a new vehicle on holiday could benefit from the travel advice of an industry expert.
The AA said drivers should check their car cover and also look up foreign road laws, in tips which could apply to Car Finance customers heading for the continent.
Officials from the association also said European breakdown cover was something drivers motoring abroad could consider.
AA Insurance spokesman Ian Crowder said: "Remember to drive on the right hand side of the road and if you have a passenger, do make sure they are alert."
He added drivers could find some differences in road signs while abroad while priorities at roundabouts and on country roads could be different.
France is a particular hotspot, he said, with 60 per cent of all breakdowns and accidents involving British drivers abroad happening just across the Channel.
The AA provides expert knowledge and advice on transport issues, which it says is respected by AA members, the public, safety experts and the government.
